DECLUTTER CHALLENGE - DAY 13 - ELECTRONICS

This is a bit different. Today we are tackling electronics. The old, the broken or the stuff that doesn’t belong in your room anymore.

You might have old radios, phones, tablets, cameras, computers, printers, scanners etc. Your room might have been a spot where you used these items. Or, like many of us, your sewing space is also the catch-all extra space in living space, so even though it’s not sewing related, this is where they stored.

Chances are there are items in your space that have been replaced with more current technology or are no longer even needed.

With each electronic, ask yourself the following questions:

  • Have I already replaced this technology with something newer?

  • Is it broken or in poor shape?

  • If it was an expensive purchase and in poor shape, are you intending on getting it repaired within a set time frame? If you are, write it in your journal and stick with this timeline.

  • When was the last time I used it? If you can’t remember, it’s time to get rid of it.

And with all the electronics you’re purging, don’t forget to also get rid of its batteries, electrical cords, user manuals and accessories i.e. remotes, cartridges.

And don't forget to post your progress on social media, either by the hashtag #jgidqdeclutter2021 or by following on Facebook. Get ready for some heavy lifting tomorrow, with Day 14 - Furniture!
