Declutter Challenge 2026 - Day 14 - TIME TO CATCH UP

Today is the end of the week two of our 21-day Declutter Challenge.
STEP 1
Even on a free day, I recommend starting with your timer.
Set it for 15 or 30 minutes — not because you must declutter, but because it gives you a gentle container for whatever you choose to do today. When the timer ends, you’re done. No guilt. No pressure.
STEP 2
Today is another catch-up day — or as we used to call it at school, free time.
You get to choose:
Catch up on a day you missed
Repeat a challenge that needs more time
Tidy, clean, or reset a space
Or simply… rest
You know what you need today.
STEP 3
Honour Declutter Fatigue. By now, you might be feeling it. Decluttering fatigue is real — mentally, physically, and emotionally.
Remember:
We are not aiming for perfection
We are decluttering 30 minutes at a time
If this takes weeks, months, or longer — that’s okay
Slow and steady always beats burnout. If today needs to be a pause, let it be a pause.
If you are tired or feeling behind, remember that life happens. And some weeks, your work life or personal life will take priority. Some of us are dealing with only one year of clutter and some of us have 20+. You will get there in 30-minute chunks of time.
If you do want to tackle a Hotspot, maybe do a small one. Or one in another room of your home. Refer to Day 7 for the steps to take to declutter these trouble spots.
STEP 4
Alternative option: If you do have energy, today is a great day to tackle another hot spot — a small area that quietly collects clutter.
For me, it might be my beads. I want to use them more — for embroidery repairs, small projects, or even making earrings — and that means they need attention. But that’s just an example.
Your hot spot might be:
A drawer
A box
A pile
Or something that’s been quietly bothering you
One timer. One space. That’s enough.
STEP 5
Your turn to share. How did you use your free day? Did you catch up, rest, declutter a hot spot, or simply enjoy sewing? Share online with the hastag #declutterchallenge2026.

See you tomorrow for Day 15! The beginning of the last week...The end is near 😎
