Well, the snowball that is the last quarter of the year is picking up steam. We have celebrated 7 birthdays, two anniversaries, Canadian Thanksgiving and this weekend is our annual Family Cookie Baking Fest. Everyone has their favourites, so it’s a day of pouring over the old cookbooks and Christmas magazines to find the versions they like.Â
My mother and I used to do it over a weekend with the kids helping out as they got older. About 10 years ago, we realized that the more we baked the more cookies we ate. So now we have pulled back. My #3 is allergic to peanuts, walnuts and pecans so in the past we altered recipes to use other nuts. But now his partner is allergic to all nuts, so we take special care to make the nut free versions first.Â
Quick N Slick - Part 2
Do you have a quilt top to finish? It's that time of year when we are pushing hard to finish gifts for the holidays. Maybe this is your first quilt top but you’re unsure what to do next? Maybe you started it a while ago and it’s sitting in the back of your closet. Or maybe you found one at a garage sale or in your grandmother’s attic. This quilting tutorial is all about getting that top quilted and bound.
Live Q&A
The next Ask Me Anything will be live on YouTube next Tuesday, December 2nd at 7:00 p.m. EST. I can't wait to see you there!

Travel with Karen
It’s hard to believe as the wind and snow blows outside my window that two short weeks ago, we were enjoying the hot and sunny weather of Singapore and Indonesia. I can’t wait to show you so look for that video in a couple of weeks.Â
New on the adventure list is my Christmas Markets River Cruise on the Danube next December, 2026. I have been wanting to see the markets for awhile now and I am working with RGE travels again to add in some bespoke adventures through textiles…and maybe chocolate. For more info on the tour check out the link here.

Karen's Quilt Crew
Join the crew for our holiday Stitch and Chat from 2-4 pm. If you don't know how to join, go to my YouTube Channel www.youtube.com/justgetitdonequilts/join and follow the prompts for joining. Since December is a busy month for all of us, instead of working on our sampler blocks we will be making ornaments. Boost Your Sampler Skills will return in January.

Karen's Quilt Circle
The holidays is so busy for most of us. Entertaining, baking, shopping and feeding. It's the perfect time to catch up on my podcast .
In my latest episode, I talk with Samantha Hoyt about quilting retreats. This past summer, I had the pleasure of attending the her retreat, A Gathering of Stitches, just outside of Washington, Maine. This year was her 10th, and it has expanded to 4 separate weeks of slow stitching programs. I invited her on the podcast to share her journey with us all.. Watch my interview with her here.
Listen to any of my Karen's Quilt Circle podcasts on the YouTube Music app here.Â

My channel hit a new milestone of 475,000 subscribers. Who knew that 8 years ago, my block lotto video The Economy Block, Three Methods, Three sizes would turn into this. My greatest pleasure is when people tell me that my video’s have helped them discover the quilter inside themselves. And the biggest bonus for me is that I have a world of friends I can share stories with. Thank you all for your support.
The Declutter Challenge is coming again in January 2026. Watch your inbox for the sign up links.
I am off to buy baking ingredients. If you want me to share some of our recipes, leave a comment and I will see what I can do.
Take care.
